  • A conservative group wants Montana voters to decide whether to regulate people’s access to bathrooms and locker rooms.
  • Montana Republican and wealthy, former software executive Greg Gianforte was sworn in today by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-WI, as the newest member of Congress.
  • The former CEO of a Montana appliance and electronics retailer, George Manlove, must report to a federal prison in Oregon by Thursday to begin serving his sentence of 5 years and 3 months.
  • Open burning in Yellowstone County will be shut effective 12:05AM Thursday, June 22, 2017, and will resume 12:05AM Saturday, June 24, 2017, based on the current weather forecast.
  • Residents outside Yellowstone National Park are opposing plans to start seaplane tours of the park and surrounding area this summer.
  • A search is being conducted for a 21-year-old Pennsylvania man who has gone missing in a Montana wilderness area.
  • Wyoming lawmakers will explore changes to the Wyoming Cowboy Challenge Academy to bring school districts closer to the National Guard program that targets at-risk teens.
  • Construction workers near in the Jackson Hole Gun Club in northwest Wyoming have uncovered a buried box of hand grenades.

Kay Erickson has been working in broadcasting in Billings for more than 20 years. She spent well over a decade as news assignment editor at KTVQ-TV before joining the staff at YPR. She is a graduate of Northern Illinois University, with a degree in broadcast journalism. Shortly after graduation she worked in Great Falls where she was one of the first female sports anchor and reporter in Montana.
