The New York Philharmonic has a new conductor! Alan Gilbert has replaced
Lorin Maazel as the 25th Music Director of the Philharmonic. At 42, Glbert
is one of the youngest directors in the orchestra’s history, and
the only native New Yorker to hold the post. Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning
actor Alec Baldwin is the new host of the weekly broadcasts.
