Montana’s U.S. Senators cast votes along party lines Tuesday, as a divided Senate determined that it is within its constitutional powers to move forward with the impeachment trial of former-President Donald Trump.

Most Republicans, including Sen. Steve Daines, stood behind Trump’s lawyers, arguing the trial is unconstitutional because Trump is no longer in office.

Democratic Sen. Jon Tester voted with his party and six Republicans to move forward with the trial.

Opening arguments in the trail are set to begin around 10 a.m. MST Wednesday.
