On this episode of 56 Counties, host Russell Rowland features Powder River County through discussions with actor, horse trainer, and hotelier Steve Held and Executive Director of the International Organic Inspectors Association Margaret Scoles.

Margaret Scoles holds a B.S. in Agriculture (Agronomy Major) from the University of Arizona, and she serves as Executive Director of IOIA (International Organic Inspectors Association), maintaining the IOIA office in Broadus, Montana since January 1999. She has 30 years of organic inspection experience for numerous certifiers (mostly in the US), including inspection of farms, livestock, and processors and has been teaching organic inspector training courses since 1989. In 2018, Margaret was awarded the Growing Organic Industry Award by the Organic Trade Association.

Steve Held was adopted by a Broadus couple, Cap and Jean Hough, when he was two months old after being born in North Hollywood, California. Ironically, after graduating from high school in Broadus, Steve ended up going back to Los Angeles and working as an actor for more than twenty years after completing his Masters at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He eventually returned to his childhood home, where he now trains horses, and owns a ranch and a hotel in Powder River County.
