Gov. Steve Bullock is heading back to Iowa this week for what his campaign says will be his sixth swing through the state in just under two months.
After being excluded from the first Democratic primary debate stage last month, Bullock’s campaign continues to pour on efforts in the early-caucusing state and to seek national media attention.
Bullock spent the 4th of July holiday in Iowa and is scheduled to arrive back there Tuesday morning and stay through Wednesday.
The two-term governor tweeted out several scenes from his Independence Day stumping over the weekend, including a video posted Sunday with Bullock surrounded by field organizers. In the video, Bullock calls, “There is no place we would rather be," and the crowd responds, "Iowa!”
Bullock’s campaign says its raised over $2 million since kicking off in mid-May. Details on where that money came from and how Bullock has spent it are expected next week, following a Federal Elections Commission deadline.
Bullock’s presence in the second Democratic debate in Detroit at the end of this month is still to be decided.
According to CNN, the 20 candidates invited to participate its two nights of debates will be announced by the Democratic National Convention July 17.
Over the last few weeks, Bullock has reportedly improved his position within the crowded field of Democrats and has a change of slotting into one of the final spots in the debate.
