Three people who were arrested while protesting the slaughter of bison near Yellowstone National Park have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and are banned from the park for 5 years.

A former University of Montana student is charged with two counts of attempted deliberate homicide in a convenience store shooting in which one man was shot in the head.

The public has been given longer to comment on part of a big, new RV park outside Glacier National Park that was approved by Flathead County last year.

For the first time in more than a decade, Green Party candidates will appear on Montana’s ballots for Congress this fall.

Montana's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 4.1 percent in January, matching the national rate. The Department of Labor says updated estimates indicate Montana added 4,300 jobs in 2017, an employment 0.9 percent.

A federal judge has rejected a Billings family's effort to overturn the state's anti-polygamy law. US Magistrate Timothy Cavan wrote that the US Supreme Court ruled in 1878 that states had the right to establish anti-polygamy statutes.

State and tribal agencies are opening mandatory boat check stations this week to screen incoming watercraft for invasive species, like zebra and quagga mussels.
