First released by Bill Withers in 1974, "The Same Love That Made Me Laugh" has been covered by artists like Diana Ross, Al Jarreau and Joan Osborne. This week, it's our Song of the Week performed by Grammy-winning blues and soul man Robert Cray, who makes his sixth appearance on Mountain Stage on this week's encore broadcast.

You'll hear much more from The Robert Cray Band on this week's episode on more than 240 NPR stations across the country. You'll also hear some hill-country blues from Luther Dickinson feat. Sharde Thomas, unmatched electric slide-guitar from master Sonny Landreth and a captivating set from singer-songwriter Amy Speace.

Joni Deutsch was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, and graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in public relations and advertising. After learning the radio ropes atWLUR91.5 FM in Lexington, Virginia, Joni returned to the Mountain State and joined the West Virginia Public Broadcasting family as the creator and host of the weekly indie/alternative music program A Change of Tune and the critically-acclaimed 30 Days of #WVmusic interview series.
Adam is a native of Greenbrier County and graduated from Radford University in 2005 with a degree in Music Business and minor in Media Studies. After completing an internship with Mountain Stage, he was hired as Assistant Producer in October 2005. He became Executive Producer when his predecessor and co-founder Andy Ridenour retired in August 2011.
