The Montana Veterans Administration is among the first to reopen doors to patients.

The Montana Veterans Administration Health Care System is one of the first VA providers in the United States to reopen doors to patients.

The announcement May 18 of in-person visits comes after some services were moved online to limit the spread of the COVID-19 illness.

A press release from the federal Veterans Administration says the Montana VA plans to share best practices it learns from its early phased reopening with VA facilities nationwide.

Officials say screening for COVID-19, physical distancing, personal protective equipment and frequent disinfection will be employed.

Telehealth and phone consults will continue.
