Montana Wildfire Roundup For August 3, 2019

Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton says he is lifting the mandatory evacuation order for the Stickney Creek and Eagle Canyon area at 8 p.m. Roadblocks in the area are currently being removed.

The evacuation order was issued Friday night for the Eagle Canyon Fire, which is burning about 60 acres, four miles northeast of Craig. 

According to the Montana Department of National Resources and Conservation, hand crews finished building a line around the fire's perimeter Saturday morning.

The fire reported Friday was human caused and the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff says an investigation is oingoing. 

A community meeting will be held this evening at 5 p.m. at Hooper Park in Lincoln for the Black Diamond Fire, which is burning 35 acres southeast of the junction of Highway 200 and Highway 279.
