Remembering Brad Edwards

The staff and friends of Yellowstone Public Radio celebrate the life of Brad Edwards, who passed away recently in Billings. Brad’s talent as a percussionist was heard in venues big and small across the region, and indeed, throughout the world, in a career that included tours and gigs with some of the most legendary names in jazz.

For three decades beginning the mid 1980s, Brad’s Afternoon Jazz was also heard every weekday afternoon, first on KEMC in Billings and then across the region as the station’s reach grew to become Yellowstone Public Radio. For all of those years, Brad’s eclectic ear and extensive knowledge provided listeners with a first-rate education in—and appreciation of—jazz in all its forms.

We celebrate Brad’s artistry, his great stories, and his tireless advocacy of jazz music and education. The staff and friends of Yellowstone Public Radio extend our condolences to all who knew Brad and are suffering his loss.

Ken Siebert began work at YPR in 1992 as a part-time, evening board operator. He was hired full time in 1994.
