Snow Brings Wettest September On Record

The National Weather Service released a snowfall record for parts of Montana on their website.

The National Weather Service released data on Friday confirming that September was a very wet, snowy month for Montana. 

Great Falls set a one day snowfall record of 17.7 inches on September 28. The previous record was 16.8 on April 20, 1973. The highest snowfalls recorded from the storm were 52 inches in Babb, 48 inches in Browning and 46 inches in Badger Pass.

September was also a very wet month for many locations. Livingston, Baker Municipal Airport, Glendive, Savage, Sidney and Brockton all had the wettest Septembers on record.

The NWS in Billings recorded temperatures ranging from a high of 101 degrees at the beginning of September to a low of 30 degrees by the end.
