Counties Prepare For Mail-In Voting; COVID-19 Puts Spotlight On Bullock

Montana Republicans fess up to their effort to get Greens on the ballot. And Montana's secretary of state thinks this is "the perfect time for a crisis."

Campaign fundraising is tricky during a pandemic. The June primary could be mail-in only. State auditor and congressional candidate Matt Rosendale urges Montanans to get coronavirus testing that may not be available. A well-known Republican enters the Senate race — as a Libertarian. And no one knows how a global health crisis will affect the 2020 election.

We now know what Montana’s primary ballots will look on June 2. Monday marked the final day for Montana candidates to file for office. 

More than 85 percent of the money fueling primary campaigns for Montana’s U.S. House race this year is held by two candidates; Republican Matt Rosendale and Democrat Kathleen Williams. Rosendale and Williams each have more than $800,000 in the bank to start the 2020 election year.

A Montana Republican primary candidate for Secretary of State is calling an ethics complaint lodged against her on Jan. 27  by Montana Democrats a “desperate attack.” The current Chief of Staff for Secretary of State says Democrats have nothing on her.

Montana’s Secretary of State is facing heat online for writing a newsletter that compares the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to U.S.-tribal relations.

The House of Representatives Wednesday will debate and vote on two articles of impeachment against President Trump; one for abuse of power and the other for obstruction of justice. Where do Montana's 2020 House candidates stand?

Montana Secretary of State Corey Stapleton is in Israel this week with a bipartisan delegation of top state elections officials from across the United States. Officials say the trip aims to strengthen U.S.- Israel relations.

Stapleton is among 11 state officials from the U.S. traveling in the National Association of Secretaries of State delegation.

  

A former head of the Montana Republican party is entering the 2020 race for the state’s lone seat in the U.S House. 

Debra Lamm is now the fifth Republican in the party’s primary race for the House seat, which the GOP has held for more than two decades.
