Montana Democrats have lodged an ethics complaint against a Republican candidate for Secretary of State. Democrats accuse the current Secretary of State Chief of Staff of using public time to campaign.

Two competing plans to ask Montana voters to legalize and tax recreational marijuana are underway in the state.  A group called MontanaCan is the latest initiative sponsor calling for a change in the state’s policies for marijuana.

Bullock met with the state Capitol press corps for the first time Wednesday since dropping out of his long-shot bid for the Democratic Party’s nomination.

Political ads for Montana’s 2020 gubernatorial race have appeared on Facebook at least 760,000 times since the start of the year. Montana Public Radio found nearly all of the candidates running for office didn’t follow state rules for disclosing details about those ads to the public.
