A November contest for the U.S. Senate between Republican Steve Daines and Democrat Steve Bullock is expected by political observers to draw tens of millions of dollars in outside spending and national attention.

But first the Senate incumbent and sitting governor each face long-shot challengers in the June 2 primary.

U.S. Senators Steve Daines of Montana and John Barrasso of Wyoming have signed onto a resolution seeking to dismiss the recently passed articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump before the House sends them over. 

Nearly two dozen U.S. Senate Democrats are planning a marathon floor session this Tuesday evening to speak out on what they call congressional inaction on gun violence. Montana’s Democratic Senator, Jon Tester, won’t be among them. But Tester says it's long past time the Senate take up gun violence legislation.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced today the Senate will delay their August recess.

This is the first time in over 20 years that the Senate has stalled in taking their five-week-long summer break.

Governor Steve Bullock has joined a bi-partisan group of six other governors asking Congress to overhaul the existing Affordable Care Act, rather than replacing it with one passed by the U.S. House.
