Supervisors for the Flathead National Forest held an open house in Kalispell on Monday to answer questions about proposed revisions to its draft forest plan.
The plan provides long-term management goals and standards, and outlines the forest’s projected timber sales.
Proposed amendments to four other forest plans were also discussed, focusing on grizzly bear habitat protection in the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem.
The amendments to the Helena, Lewis and Clark, Kootenai and Lolo National Forests will address regulations in support of the grizzly bear’s de-listing from the endangered species list.
The next open house is at the Hilton Garden Inn in Missoula on Wednesday, June 22, from 2p.m. to 6p.m. It is open to the public.
