Gianforte Announces New Department Of Natural Resources And Conservation Director

Montana Gov. elect Greg Gianforte on Wednesday announced the next director of the state Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.

Gianforte tapped Amanda Kaster to lead the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, which manages state land and water rights.

Kaster most recently served as acting deputy assistant secretary for Land and Minerals Management with the U.S. Department of the Interior. She directed Bureau of Land Management activities, including timber management, mineral development, the grazing program and oil and gas production and reporting.

A news release includes statements of support for Kaster from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Montana Petroleum Association and Montana Stockgrowers Association.
