Sustaining Membership Saves YPR Money!
You may have heard YPR’s invitation to “become a sustaining member.” It’s a nice sentiment, but what does it mean and why is it so important to the longevity of Yellowstone Public Radio?
Sustaining members make an ongoing, monthly commitment to public radio through electronic funds transfer (EFT). Sustaining members provide a strong and reliable cash flow, leaving YPR to focus on adding new members during the on-air drives. Sustaining members also saves money. In fiscal year 2013, YPR spent more than $8,000 on postage for renewal notices and monthly pledge statements. We also spent more than $6,200 printing forms, envelopes, and return envelopes. Sustaining members don’t need notices or postage because it’s all done automatically and electronically. Becoming a sustaining member will help reduce these costs substantially!
EFT processing is less expense to YPR. Credit and Debit card payments require merchant fees – an expense that adds up.
As a sustaining member, you control how much you give to YPR. An electronic funds transfer can be as little as $5.00 per month or as much as you choose. You decide.
