Montanans have a few resources for help with filing this year.

As the deadline to submit taxes quickly approaches, Montanans have many free resources to help with filing.

Organizations and students in Billings and Bozeman are offering free tax assistance through the April 15 deadline.

Montana State University Billings students are teaming up with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to offer free tax assistance for individuals and families making less than $56,000 a year.

The free service is available now through April 15 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 P.M to 7 P.M., and Saturdays from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. at District 7 Human Resources Development Council (HRDC7), located at 7 N. 31st St. in Billings.

VITA, with the Human Development Resource Council, is also providing tax assistance through mid-April for households in Bozeman with incomes under $56,000. More information about specific dates and times can be found here.

Another option for Montanans is AARP. It is not required to be a member of AARP to use these services.

More information about AARP and eligibility can be found here.

Students with Montana State University’s Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship are offering free tax help for households with an income under $54,000.

For MSU, the sessions will be held from 4:30 to 7 P.M. on March 4, 9, 11. All sessions will be held in Room 211 of Jabs Hall on the MSU campus.

Appointments are required to attend sessions. To book an appointment, go here.
