Great Falls Public Schools will resume classes on Tuesday after moving to remote learning last week when it did not have enough teachers to instruct students in person.
“The situation on Tuesday morning will be that our classes will reopen as regularly scheduled,” Great Falls Superintendent Tom Moore said on Facebook Live Sunday evening.
The district said the absence rate of teachers is predicted to improve over last week. When the Great Falls school system moved to remote learning, 125 staff members were out with COVID-19 related illness, leaving 50 classrooms without instructors.
Great Falls was Montana’s largest district to close its doors last week amid surging COVID-19 infections.
The district is strongly recommending the use of masks among staff, students and visitors as it plans to reopen.
