Linder and St. John Host Public Forum
The public is invited to ask questions and direct comments to Yellowstone County’s top law enforcement officials Monday night, Aug. 1, in Billings.
St. John said it is an open forum.
“We can either make a presentation or answer question in relations to law enforcement in Yellowstone County as it relates to some of the national issues that are taking place,” said St. John. “As you know it’s very tense and very volatile at this time. And it gives us an opportunity to address some of the issues as it relates to us locally.”
Shootings and protests have been in the news with incidences in Baton Rouge, Minnesota, Dallas, and Chicago
The session begins at 5:30pm. It is scheduled to end at 7:00pm but could go longer.
“We do get some spirited discussions going, especially when it’s out of the confines of the police department and that’s what the whole purpose is,” St. John said.
Linder said he has cleared his schedule for tonight in case the discussion goes long. He said he has done these forums before but this is the first time with Billings Police.
The event is in the Missouri Room in the Student Union on the MSU-Billings campus.
