Libertarian U.S. House Candidate Elinor Swanson recently announced the details of her latest statewide campaign swing in the final weeks before the November election.

Among her stops on the stump, Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” rally in Billings, Montana.

“I’m here not for or against Trump,” Swanson said she was “letting people here know about my own campaign.”

Swanson said she wanted to let Montana voters know she’s a viable alternative to those who may not be happy with Republican incumbent Greg Gianforte or Democratic challenger Kathleen Williams.

“I’m happy to identify as a fiscally responsible Democrat if those exist anymore,” Swanson said. “If we can go back to Bill Clinton-level eras of federal revenues and federal spending that would be great, adjusted for today’s dollar.”

“I’m also happy to identify as a Liberty Republican,” said the Billings attorney who said she is the only one who will uphold the constitution and is a true fiscal conservative. “My values most closely align with the Libertarian Party and I can’t imagine that I’ll ever deviate from that.”

“I am the only alternative,” she said. “The only one who is actually fiscally responsible or actually socially tolerant.”

Swanson said there wasn’t anyone on the ballot that she could have voted for and that’s why she is running for the U.S. House.

Swanson, Gianforte and Williams are set to face off in a debate on September 29, 2018. It’s sponsored by the Montana Television Network and Yellowstone Public Radio and will be broadcast “live.”
