The Montana Motor Vehicle Division is keeping six of its driver’s license offices open on Veteran’s Day.

This includes the offices in Billings, Great Falls, Bozeman, Helena, Kalispell, and Missoula.

The offices will be open from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. The Bozeman office will close earlier, at 1:30 P.M.

Sarah Garcia is an administrator for MVD. She says the extra hours on Monday are part of an effort to alleviate long wait times during normal business hours.

“We’ve been very shorthanded on our staffing levels statewide for drivers examiners and we’ve realized that our customers are struggling to get to our services because of the staff shortages," Garcia said.

Appointments aren’t necessary. MVD is offering drivers license renewals, state ID cards, REAL ID and driver's license transfers from out of state. Services involving testing will not be available.

AAA Montana and MVD Express in Billings will also be open on Veteran’s Day for drivers license renewals with a convenience fee.
