Montana’s lone voice in the U.S. House did not join the majority this week in voting to hold former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in criminal contempt of Congress.
Democrats and two Republicans approved the resolution after Meadows stopped cooperating with the committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.
In a tweet, Rep. Matt Rosendale called Meadows a good man and said the vote to hold him in contempt was a “witch hunt.”
The final decision whether to bring a case against the chief of staff of former President Donald Trump is now up to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
