The Montana state health department is warning of a recall on rice cereal for infants and babies distributed at Walmart stories and online.

The federal Food and Drug Administration is recalling three lots of Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal after a sample of the products tested above guidance for naturally occurring inorganic arsenic.

The following product lots are recalled:

  • Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal, 8 oz, lot # 21083, date June 24, 2022
  • Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal, 8 oz, lot # 21084, date June 25, 2022
  • Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal, 8 oz, lot # 21242, date Nov. 30, 2022

Adam Meier, director of the state Department of Public Health and Human Services, is asking Montanans to check cupboards for the product and discard it.

According to the state health department no illnesses related to the product lots have been reported and the recall is out of an abundance of caution.
