"There is No Place For Hate At MSUB," Said Chancellor Edelman

University Relations, MSUB

Montana State University Billings Chancellor Dan Edelman said there is no place for hate at MSUB.  The written statement was released Monday afternoon after unauthorized posters from a white nationalist group were found – and taken down - again on campus.

The group called Identity Evropa tweeted pictures last Friday of the posters they put up on the MSU Billings campus and at a Veteran’s Memorial in downtown Billings.

Chancellor Dan Edelman was traveling out of town Monday afternoon and not available for immediate comment. He said in the written news release the university does not condone the positions espoused by the organization that put up the posters.

He also said MSUB does stand up every day in a thoughtful, progressive and steadfast manner to embrace diversity through policy, programs and events.

The white nationalist group placed its poster outside the office of the newly relocated Montana Veterans Affairs Division Billings Service Office in the College of Education building the MSU Billings campus. The posters were removed.

MSUB is just one of the campuses in Montana and Wyoming where this white nationalist group has placed its posters.

The Southern Poverty Law Center says this group, founded in 2016, was formed to recruit white, college-aged men under the guise of raising white racial consciousness.
