Montana tax deadline pushed back a week

Montanans have an extra week to file their income taxes after Gov. Greg Gianforte announced an extension Monday to the individual tax return deadline.

Gianforte said recent winter storms, particularly in eastern Montana, have made it difficult for some people to get their tax returns in on time. The one-week extension only applies to individual income tax returns, and does not apply to federal returns, quarterly estimated payments or other state tax types.

The new deadline to file an individual tax return is April 25.
