Hundreds gathered at the state Capitol at noon Tuesday in hopes of bringing a Town Hall to U.S. Senator Steve Daines, R-MT. The unaffiliated groups said Daines has refused to meet with them to talk about Russia and national security, the Affordable Care Act, refugees, LGBTQ and Native American issues. Daines was scheduled to address the Montana House of Representatives, but canceled his appearance at the last minute.
"What a coward!" said Katherine Haque-Hausrath.
Daines rescheduled his appearance for Wednesday. He is also scheduled to visit a nearby school and hold a press conference on the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.
