Missoula County public health officials are reporting two presumptively positive COVID-19 cases, the Governor’s Office announced Saturday evening.
They’re the first cases to appear in Missoula County.
The positive tests from a woman in her 30s and a man in his 50s were both announced by the state health department’s Public Health Laboratory Saturday evening. More information was not immediately available.
Test results are considered presumptive until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) can confirm.
The Montana Department of Health and Human Services and Missoula City-County Health Department are following up to learn more details about the two patients’ exposure risk, travel history and to identify and communicate with anyone who may have been in close contact with them.
Montana’s first four in-state cases announced late Friday are out of Yellowstone, Gallatin, Silver Bow and Broadwater counties. All of the patients travelled to affected areas recently and are believed to have contracted the disease out of state, according to the Governor’s Office.
