Raison D’être Dance Project presents METAL + MOZART August 22-23 at the Ellen Theatre in Bozeman.
Similar in scope to the dance company’s previous productions of VIVALDI + RANGES in 2018 and RACHMANINOV + PLUTONIA in 2022, METAL + MOZART is a collaborative vision, inviting the audience along on an immersive explosion of style, sound, and movement.
Raison D'être Dance Project was founded in 2017 by Erin Levy and Genevieve Trygstad-Burke in Bozeman, Montana. The idea was born out of their deep-rooted love of dance and music, and the desire to share their artistic passions with the community. Our purpose is to foster collaboration with artists, musicians, choreographers, and philanthropic organizations...while providing an avenue for visions and ideas.
In this interview, co-founder Genevieve Trygstad-Burke starts with more about the specific collaborative effort on Metal and Mozart.
“Throughout the entire show, it’s really a mix of genres, and the metal band we’re collaborating with are called Galvanist. They have written original compositions inspired by Mozart.”
Co-founder Erin Levy points out that collaboration is core to the company’s approach to projects, and goes on to illustrate the power of collaboration as Galvinist contributes to the number “Creatura”.
“Part of our mission at RDE is to collaborate with different artists, because then we provide a platform for other artists to also challenge themselves creatively, and then together we can create something that’s really, truly unique.”
Trygstad-Burke and Levy are also happy to be back at the Ellen Theater, and are looking ahead to their ten-year celebration in 2027.
