Robertson Draw Fire and Crooked Creek Fire
Containment lines are holding as fire crews patrol and monitor the Robertson Draw and Crooked Creek Fires burning in the Custer Gallatin National Forest in south-central Montana.
The 30,000-acre Robertson Draw fire just south of Red Lodge is holding steady in size and showing minimal fire behavior. Engine crews are monitoring and cleaning up burning material along the southern and eastern sides of the fire. Evacuation warnings remain in effect for the area south of Red Lodge and east of the Beartooth Highway.
The 4,000-acre Crooked Creek fire east of Bridger in the Pryor Mountains continues at 72 percent containment. Inciweb says fire crews will continue to patrol and monitor for hot spots along the containment lines.
The pre-evacuation warning notice for 25 homes in the Sage Creek area. Continues as does the temporary flight restrictions over both the Crooked Creek and Robertson Draw Fires.
As the western US continues the hot dry trend the Northern Rockies is now at preparedness level 3 while the national preparedness level remains at 4.
