10 p.m.: The Cascade County Sheriff's Office has issued a mandatory evacuation order near Cascade for all residents south of Mile Marker 7 on Adel Road.
The sheriff's office says people should pack their essential items and house pets and leave their residence immediately. First responders will not come rescue anyone who decides to stay.
The Sanders County Sheriff has issued evacuation orders today for all residences on the east side of Blue Slide Road in Graves North and Graves South areas due to the Thorne Creek Fire burning roughly 6 miles northeast of Thompson Falls.
The areas under the orders are described as “from Cougar Creek south to the intersection of Blue Slide Road and River View Lane,” according to a Sunday Inciweb update. Deputies went door to door to notify residents in those areas.
The fire is burning in rocky, steep terrain, with heavy downed timber, and is currently inaccessible to firefighters for direct engagement.
People in the area can expect to see more smoke as burnout tactics are implemented today and into the week.
Fire officials will host a community meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at Ainsworth Park in Thompson Falls. The meeting will be posted on the West Lolo Complex Facebook and YouTube sites.
Cascade County
A pre-evacuation warning has been issued for those living in the Sheep Creek area in Cascade County, according to a Facebook post from Cascade County Disaster & Emergency Services.
An Evacuation Warning means there is a potential threat to life and/or property. This warning is issued to give residents time to prepare for a possible evacuation. Residents & Visitors who require additional time to evacuate or need to move pets or livestock are advised to begin the evacuation process now.
The South Yaak Fire burning 4 miles northwest of Troy blew up overnight to more than 1,100 acres, and residents on Kilbrennan Lake Road remain under evacuation warnings.
East Side Road is closed except for residential traffic, according to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Facebook post.
The fire grew from 722 acres overnight. According to Inciweb It’s 0% contained as of Sunday afternoon.
