Montana Gov. elect Greg Gianforte on Wednesday announced the next leader of the state Department of Environmental Quality.
Gianforte named Chris Dorrington as next director of the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), which is charged with protecting a clean environment for present and future generations.
Dorrington currently leads DEQ’s Air, Energy, and Mining Division, which reviews permit and license applications to ensure Montana environmental laws are met. He also advises on energy policy and projects, according to a news release.
Apart from spending 15 years in government, Dorrington has also worked in the private sector as an account manager, financial advisor and commercial construction superintendent, according to his LinkedIn page.
Gianforte has promised to replace all current agency directors.
