Josh Quick is the author of Montana Quick Facts, released in 2019, and Yellowstone Quick Facts, released in 2021. His books are collections of lesser-known truths of Montana and one-sentence tidbits about the nation’s first National Park, paired with Quick’s whimsical illustrations.

The books are centered on Quick’s drawings of scenes and characters of Montana. The artist describes drawing as a habit he just can’t break. “Ever since I can remember, I owned a sketchbook, sharpener, and drawing pencils. When I was young, my parents built our house, pouring the foundation, erecting walls, and installing windows around me. I sat at the table drawing faces, monsters, animals, and scenes from movies.”

Quick recalls being reprimanded in school as a child for not listening and drawing in class. He said that was the way he processed the world around him. As an adult, Quick has channeled that energy into these books, and he’s seeking your help. If you have a quick fact about Montana you’d like to share for consideration in his next book, email him and let him know.
