Time is running out for those surrounding Crow Nation to apply for rental and utility assistance. Taylar Stagner with Yellowstone Public Radio talked with officials on Crow about how minorities in the surrounding Crow area can apply.
The Apsaalooke Nation Housing Authority is still taking applications to help minorities with rent and utilities within a 100-mile radius of Crow Agency. This includes applicants in Billings, Montana affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jeannie Pretty Paint is the director of the emergency rental program on Crow Agency and says time is limited.
“We have over 600 applications now. So, you know, as long as we have the money, we can help until the end of December,” Pretty Paint says.
The emergency rental program is funded by federal CARES Act money, and Pretty Paint says that they have around $600,000 left to divvy out.
