American Prairie is pleased to host “A Sense of Place: Exploring the Place Names of ’Ɔ́’ɔ́ɔ́ɔ́niinénn ɔh in Central-Montana” on Thursday, February 26, at 7 pm. This informative presentation by esteemed Aaniiih tribal member and educator Terry Brockie will be held at the National Discovery Center, located at 302 W Main Street in Lewistown, Montana. Admission is free.In this important presentation, Terry Brockie, will lead an examination of a place-based learning experience from the perspective of the ’Ɔ́’ɔ́ɔ́ɔ́niinénn ɔh, an Indigenous Tribe commonly known as the Gros Ventre, or Aaniiih, who currently reside on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. Since time immemorial, Indigenous People have called Central Montana home, a place where their culture and history are tied to the land. Here, there exist many stories particular to the surrounding landscape, woven through various mountain ranges, rivers, and places, each with historical significance to a particular Tribe. Brockie explains that there are places where their ancestors traditionally rested, specific buffalo jumps they utilized, places where they could gain spiritual power to heal or to protect, or a sheltered river valley that allowed them to winter safely. He further explains that Indigenous People often believe that a supreme power purposefully guides them, placing the Tribe in a particular area where enough is provided for them to survive and thrive. On February 26, Mr. Brockie will share these stories to help us understand the connections between culture, history, and place. About the PresenterTerry Brockie, a member of the Aaniiih Nation on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, currently teaches his native language at Aaniiih Nakoda College and serves as a consultant in education and Tribal economic development. The 10th annual Moms Like Me hosted by Roots Family Collaborative will be held on Sunday, March 1 at The ELM, downtown Bozeman. Doors open at 4pm and the event starts at 5pm. Moms Like Me has become a well-loved, community event for mothers and families in the greater Bozeman area to raise awareness about perinatal mental health, normalize the expectations of the perinatal period, and strengthen support networks.
Over the past nine years, 29 incredible storytellers and 14 musicians have bravely taken the stage to share their raw, real, and powerful journeys into motherhood. Each of these women have helped shape Moms Like Me into what it is today: a celebration of motherhood, resilience, connection, and truth-telling.
The power of storytelling cannot be overstated. The collective impact of Moms Like Me reaches far beyond the annual event—it lives in the hearts of those who’ve listened, those who’ve felt seen, and those who’ve found the courage to share their own truths because each mother before has shared hers.
As we prepare to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Moms Like Me, we encourage all in our community to attend and experience the power of connection. This event is open to all who love and support mothers.

Zen Master Suzuki Roshi encourages us to be fully who we are, not to try to figure out who we are or have an idea of how to be. To be fully who we are, we look to realize our inmost nature, our inmost request of ourselves and how it informs our effort in all of our arenas of practice - meditation, relationships, parenting, activism, art, service.
This weekend we will explore the quest of our inmost aspiration. The retreat will include meditation, instruction, Dharma talks, writing and reflection and group conversation.
There will be a public talk on Friday night and a Saturday daylong retreat. You may come to the Friday event only or the full weekend. Tickets are available at bozemandharmacenter.org. This retreat will be offered online and in person.

Cohesion Dance Project is hosting a free dance class led by its 2026 Artist-in-Residence, Nina Murphy, on Saturday, March 7 from 10a-12p at Cohesion Center, 1020 Argyle.
During the workshop, Nina will lead participants through movement phrases and an introductory discussion about the concepts she plans to explore during her residency and performance. Her initial concepts are rooted in an evolving exploration of repetition - as it appears in nature, in life cycles, and through embodied experience of movement and time. Through this lens, the work examines how repeated actions can build meaning, transform over time, and create both structure and surprise.
The workshop is open to dancers, ages 10 to adult, of all levels and abilities. Those interested in the class can register at www.cohesiondance.org or call 406-422-0830 for more information.
Following the master class, participants will have the opportunity to join the residency cast. All who are interested will be cast in the show, pending rehearsal availability.
Rehearsals will take place from March 16-May 14 with the final performances scheduled for May 15-17, 2026.
